Richard Winkler

Richard Ervin Winkler Sr., 78, of Lyman, Wyo., died on Sept. 3, 2012, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
A private service will be held later.
Mr. Winkler was born on Nov. 6, 1933, in Alabama and was a son of Robert E. Winkler and Ada Wylie. He was a mechanic in the mining industry and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and beadwork. He also enjoyed shooting pool and rock hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Rose E. Clark of Texas, Patricia Y. Birchett of Idaho and Penny Watson of Wyoming; six sons, Robert E. Winkler of Wyoming, Richard E. Winkler Jr. of Safford, Rex A. Winkler of Wyoming, John D. Shurtleff of Wyoming, Michael A. Shurtleff of Denver and Jay S. Shurtleff of Wyoming; 25 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty J. Winkler and Margie Shinault.
