Richardo "Rick" Maestas

Richardo Paul "Rick" Maestas, 61, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 20, 2014, in Tucson.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with the Rev. Ariel Lustan officiating.

Mr. Maestas was born on Dec. 21, 1952, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and grew up in Coolidge. He enlisted in the Army in 1969 and was a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the 101st Airborne Division Screaming Eagles. He later was an equipment operator in construction. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working on his ’47 Chevy truck, going to dirt track races and making annual trips to Sturgis, South Dakota, on his Harley-Davidson. He recently celebrated 21 years of sobriety and enjoyed helping others in that pursuit.

Survivors include three sons, Tommy, Jason and Anthony; three brothers, Cipriano, Dino and Richard; four sisters, Tracie, Tina, Berlina and Belinda; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Murnak.
