Robert Anthony Palacios II, 30, passed away on May 2, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew him. Born August 13, 1993, in Mesa, Arizona.
Robert was a graduate of Coolidge High School and excelled in his role as a mentor to many. He was a beloved football coach at Vista Grande High School and Coolidge High School. His proudest accomplishments revolved around his dedication to his players, whom he considered family. He went above and beyond for them, both on and off the field, earning their respect and admiration.
Outside of coaching, Robert’s vibrant personality lit up every room he entered. Known for his infectious laugh and willingness to lend an ear or offer advice, he made a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His presence was marked by joy and laughter, often accompanied by his trademark burp which never failed to bring a smile to those around him.
Robert’s love for life extended beyond the football field. He enjoyed golfing, spending time with friends and family. In his younger years he engaged in activities like paintballing and horseback riding. He especially adored moments spent with his nieces and nephews, creating precious memories that will be treasured for years to come.
In Robert’s passing, he is survived by his father Robert Palacios, step-mother Patsy Palacios, sister Brittany M. Chitwood, sister Maricella T. Palacios, step-brother Miguel A. Silvas, step-brother Eric Alcantar, as well as four nieces and six nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Jo Palacios, Papa Alfonso Palacios, Grandmother Evelyn Antone, Grandmother Sharon Giddens, Tia Johnna Antone, Tia Veronica Ruiz, and Tia Estrella Ruiz.
There was never a dull moment with Robert Anthony Palacios II; his unwavering dedication to those around him leaves a mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend or family. May his spirit live on through the countless lives he touched during his time on earth.
Public Viewing will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 with service to follow at 9 a.m. at Vista Grande High School Gymnasium in Casa Grande, Arizona. Interment will follow at Heritage Valley Memorial Park in Coolidge, Arizona.
