Robert C. "Bob" Abbey

CASA GRANDE - Robert C. "Bob" Abbey Sr., 84, of Casa Grande died at home on April 18, 2016.

Mr. Abbey was born on Nov. 29, 1931, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. He served in the Army from 1952-55 and was a sergeant and atomic veteran. He received the National Defense Service Medal and was very involved in the American Legion and his church.

Survivors include two adult children, Robert Abbey Jr. of Illinois and Kim Abbey of Virginia; a sister, Mary Nicholson of Wisconsin; his partner, June Gorecki; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Cotter, in 2000.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Sonland Lutheran Church in Casa Grande, Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich, Illinois, or Commonwealth Reporter in Fond du Lac.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Memory Gardens. The service will follow at 11, with the Rev. John Morley officiating.
