ARIZONA CITY - Robert Hartzell Kerr, 82, died March 10, 2009 at Deborah's House care home in Casa Grande.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 3, with the Rev. Thom Stephens of Central Lutheran Church officiating.
Mr. Kerr was born May 17, 1926 in Marion, Ohio. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War and was a radioman first class. He later graduated from Ohio State University. He was an electrical engineer and worked for General Electric for 35 years before retirement.
He enjoyed studying maps, reading and spending time with his family. He was a 50-plus-year Mason and a 25-plus-year member of Order of the Eastern Star as well as being affiliated with other Masonic organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons, Edwin of Connecticut, Dale of New York and Kenneth of Massachusetts; a daughter, Peggy Hoyt of New York; a sister, Eleanor Prince of Texas; a brother, William of Arizona; a stepdaughter, Heidi Walsh of England; and two stepsons, Robert Schuh of Arizona and Martin Schuh of New York. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners or a charity of the donor's choice.
