Robert Milton Parsons (75) passed away peacefully on June 15, 2019 at his home in Casa Grande, Arizona. He was surrounded by his wife and children as he left this mortal life, and entered into heaven.
Robert was born December 23, 1943 in Nashville, Tennessee to Milton Arthur Parsons and Anna Laura Shahan. Robert was raised in Nashville till he was 13, when the family moved to Alhambra, California. Robert joined the U.S. Navy and served as a pilot flying the T-28. While in the Navy, Robert met his sweetheart Sylvia Jane Cranmer at a singles ward dance while they were stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. They were married on September 2, 1967. They were later sealed in the Los Angeles, California Temple on April 27, 1974. Through their married life, Robert and Sylvia lived in Texas, California, Idaho, Oklahoma and Arizona. They raised one son, and 5 daughters.
Robert is survived by his wife Sylvia; their six children, Robert (Tara) Parsons Jr, Angela (Toby) Sanders, Anna Parsons, Nichole (David) Hancock, Michaelle (Todd) Mulhollan, and Rebecca (Frank) Hefner and honorary daughter Tamberlain (Brady)Parsons. He loved and was loved by his 20 grandchildren, Cassandra, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Karley, Colin, Kirsten, James, Caleb, Brendan, Zachary, Cooper, Spencer, Chance, Leah, Riley, Savanah, Brock, Brody, John & Michael, two great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Nayvie, and brother Charles (Vivien) Parsons. Robert is loved and honored by his entire family and will be greatly missed.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Milton Parsons and Anna Shahan, and brother William Parsons.
Robert spent most of his life creating beautiful things through construction and metal sculpture. He taught his children to use their hands and imagination to follow in his footsteps creating and doing. Robert enjoyed serving and helping those around him. He served in many capacities throughout his life in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Funeral Services, Friday, June 21, 2019 10:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2841 N. Trekell Rd., Casa Grande, AZ. Visitation at 9:00am. Burial 1:45pm at Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, AZ.
