Robert W. Buckner

ELOY - Robert W. Buckner, 59, of Eloy died on Aug. 28, 2019.

Mr. Buckner spent most of his life in Casa Grande and graduated from Casa Grande Union High School. He proudly served in the Air Force and worked for Northern Arizona University as a supervisor in Fire Life Safety and Building Access Services and also was a licensed locksmith.

An avid San Francisco 49ers fan, he often said "and on the eighth day God created the 49ers." He had a special sense of humor, was a man of faith and touched the hearts of many. He was instrumental in bringing the Awana Christian training program to Heritage Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, RB and Minnie Buckner; a brother, Richard Buckner; and a stepdaughter, Jasmine Arvizu. Survivors include his beloved wife, Connie; seven sons and daughters, Jacob Buckner of Chandler, Kursty Wade of Maricopa, Rhema Thomas of Indiana, Joshua Buckner of Minnesota, Michael Ward of Florida, Jessica Carman of Long Island, New York, and Ronald Mitchell of Tucson; a sister, Linda Irvin of Spokane, Washington; and 16 grandchildren.

Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 27 at Calvary Chapel in Casa Grande.
