Robert William Stiefel

CASA GRANDE - Robert William Stiefel, 97, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 12, 2015, at Medisys Assisted Living Home.

The memorial service will be held early next year.

Mr. Stiefel was born on Sept. 3, 1918, in Fort Scott, Kansas. Although he had limited formal education, he took advantage of classes and learning his entire life and was known as the ultimate salesman, selling concrete. He had many friends, most of whom he outlived, and could build and repair just about anything.

He was always working on things and built a home in Show Low. He loved piano music, stinger cocktails, his recliner and dogs. He also loved cooking, especially for others, up until his death. He always did it "his way."

Survivors include a daughter, Delna Jones of Indio, California; a son, Stephen Stiefel of Santa Monica, California; a brother, Floyd Anderson of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his former wife, Clara Clemenz; four sisters, Minnie, Margaret and Delna Stiefel and Juanita Streid; and three brothers, Otto Stiefel, Howard and Roger Streid.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Wounded Warrior Project.
