Rodney Oakland, 81, of Casa Grande died Sept. 10, 2008 at Wishing U Well care home in Casa Grande.
The family is planning a celebration of life gathering.
Mr. Oakland was born in Minneapolis to Theodore and Mable Oakland. The family soon moved to a farm at Menahga, Minn. After serving in the Army during World War II, he met and married Cleo King in Denver. They lived in that area until retiring. They then traveled most of the time and called Las Cruces, N.M., home for 10 years before moving to Casa Grande.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Darold Oakland of Casa Grande, Stanley Oakland of Fort Collins, Colo., and Douglas Oakland of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Sandra Jefferson of Casa Grande; three brothers, Arnold Oakland of Denver, Kenneth Oakland of Sebeka, Minn., and Willard Oakland of Ojai, Calif.; three sisters, Dorothy Anderson of Sebeka, Irma Fenner of Arvada, Colo., and Judy Tomford of Park Rapids, Minn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
