Roger Phillips Ellis

Roger Phillips Ellis, 78, of Blackwater, passed in Gilbert on June 16, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones. He was born November 26, 1944, in Sacaton to Olive Ellis.

Roger met his late wife Lucene and had three kids and moved to California, where he was a truck driver. He became ill and they moved back to Arizona in 1979, where he retired. He enjoyed scraping for his “valuables” and loved being with his family, friends, his dogs and goats.

He is survived by his sons and daughters, Weda Garcia, Steven Ellis, Samantha Duvall and Perry Duvall Sr., his sister Imogene Jackson, 7 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by mother, his wife, Lucene Ellis, a daughter, Brenda Roberts, his companion, Theda Duvall, a sister, Caroline Perkins and four uncles.
