Rolanda Susan Dawahoya

Rolanda Susan Dawahoya “Rico,” 60, of Blackwater, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2024, surrounded by her family. Born on January 30, 1964, to Rhoda (Enos) and Gary Smiley, Rico was the heart and soul of her family, known for her generosity and humor, telling jokes and laughing often.

She lived life to the fullest and loved spending time with her family, friends, and her pets. Rico always had a way of bringing family together, no matter the reason: birthday, holiday, or just to share a meal together. She was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Rico was a member of local pool and bowling leagues and was well-known for her competitive board game skills, particularly in Yahtzee and Monopoly.

Rico is survived by her husband, Rudy, and stepson, Rudy, Jr.; 8 sisters, Brenda Hall, Paula Marrietta, Sherry Smiley-Moody, Cynthia Ross, Lynette Gorman, Dionne Mix, Janell Smiley, and Dawn Smiley. Six grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepson Mark Dawahoya, and sister, Sandra Smiley.

A wake service will be held on Friday, December 13th, at 6 PM at the District One Service Center in Blackwater.
