Ronald Lee Davies, 79 Casa Grande, AZ passed away on April 10, 2021, at Banner Casa Grande
Regional Medical Center, casa Grande, AZ. He is survived by his soulmate and wife of 46 years, Lolly (Cox) Davies, a son, Michael of Tampa, Fl, and one brother, Danny (Rita) of Clarksville, TN, along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister-in -law, Joyce (Cox) Niemeier of Glen Carbon, IL
Ron was born in East Alton, IL on October 4, 1941, to James W. and Geneva (Hudgins) Davies who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.
He attended Civic Memorial High School, Bethalto, IL, graduating in 1959. He joined the Navy and spent most of four years stationed at NAS Pensacola, FL, where he was an electronics technician. After serving four years and being honorably discharged, he worked for Bell Telephone and attended Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, IL, where he majored in mathematics education. Upon graduation, he taught eight years at Roxana Community High School in Roxana, IL while completing requirements for his Master of Science in math education at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. Ron was a lifelong learner, having accumulated more than an additional 100 semester graduate hours. He graduated from Colorado School of Trades as a certified gunsmith. After owning his own business in gunsmithing, he once again began to teach and retired from Casa Grande Union High School, Casa Grande, AZ, where he was a math teacher, department head of math, assistant golf coach and head golf coach.
Ron was an avid sportsman. He loved trap and skeet shooting, fishing, bird hunting, and playing on his Navy softball team. He will bemissed by many. There will be no services. He will be interred at Cave Creek National Military Cemetery in Cave Creek, AZ.
