Rosalia Mendoza

Rosalia "Susie" Mendoza, 94, of New River and a Casa Grande native, died June 18, 2009 at Christian Care Nursing Center in Phoenix.


Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 9:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Mendoza was born and was a daughter of Ramon and Rosalia (Guayante) Andrade. She attended Casa Grande schools and married Andreas Mendoza in Casa Grande, where they raised their family. She was a homemaker and a lifelong Christian and attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She and her husband provided a loving home for their family of seven children and many foster children.

Survivors include three daughters, Maria Rita Cullor of New River, Ramona Sandoval of Murray, Ky., and Margie Don of Tucson; a son, Daniel Mendoza of Los Alamitos, Calif.; a sister, Mary Lopez of New River; 18 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, David, Rudolfo and Andrew Mendoza; a grandson, Mark Don; and several siblings.
