Ruben Salazar

ELOY - Ruben Salazar, 67, of Eloy died on July 27, 2014, at his daughter’s home in Casa Grande.

Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Salazar was born on Aug. 23, 1946, and was a son of Oscar Salazar and Susana Lopez. He worked at Abbott Nutrition in maintenance and enjoyed organizing lottery pools with friends and family. He also enjoyed doing sudoku and crossword puzzles and barbecuing with family and friends. A hardworking man, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Esperanza; two sons, Ruben C. Salazar of Eloy and Alberto Salazar of SeaTac, Washington; a daughter, Nancy S. Garcia of Casa Grande; three brothers, Ernest Salazar of Eloy, David Salazar of Casa Grande and Genaro "Jerry" Salazar of Mount Pleasant, Iowa; a sister, Angie Rodriguez of Eloy; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Antonio Salazar.
