BLACKWATER - Ruby Larue Carrillo, 69, of Blackwater died on Aug. 8, 2016, at home, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Carrillo was born on Jan. 23, 1947, in Sacaton to Clarence and Rita Johnson. She was a woman dedicated to her faith, family and community and was a well-known member of Blackwater Baptist Church. She was known for reading her Bible often.
She loved to serve her Lord Jesus Christ and enjoyed making tamales with her District 1 Elderly Center group. Although she dedicated herself to many good things, she made the time to spend with her family. She enjoyed that quality time, especially with her granddaughters. She touched the lives of many.
Survivors include her husband, Ramon; two sons and a daughter, Sheldon Blackwater, Olivia and Richard Quiroz; a sister, Lahoma Cardenas; and four granddaughters, all of Blackwater. She was preceded in death by six brothers, Jerry, Dewayne, Edwin, Dewey, Colbert and Adolf Johnson; a daughter, Sharlene Blackwater; and two sons, Lorenzo and Delvin Blackwater.
Visitation will begin at 7 a.m. Saturday at the District 1 Service Center. The funeral will follow at 8, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating. Burial will be in West Blackwater Cemetery.
