Rupert Marcus Stephens

AK-CHIN — Rupert Marcus Stephens, 90, of the Ak-Chin Indian Community died on May 31, 2022.
Mr. Stephens was born in Sacaton on April 17, 1932, to John and Amelia Stephens.

He was a loving husband, hard worker and very supportive of his family.
He was a musician who loved playing the violin and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. He liked the outdoors and looked forward to his evening walks.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances; two daughters and a son, Joann, Stanley and Odelia Stephens; three siblings, Lillian Shade, Jeanie and Johnny Stephens; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Brenda and Jennifer Stephens, and three siblings, Mable Alverez, Delphine Vasquez and Herman Stephens.

Funeral Mass celebrated at 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission. Wake following at the family home, 46968 W. Farrell Road. Burial at 5 a.m. on Friday, June 10, in Ak-Chin Cemetery.
