SACATON - Ruth Gertrude Morago, 89, of Sacaton died April 12, 2009 at home.


Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 6:30. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton. Wilford Wellington and the Rev. Richard Blackwater will officiate. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.

Mrs. Morago was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Phoenix and was a daughter of Lucy and Alfred Jackson. She was a homemaker, a Red Cross volunteer and a longtime member of the PTA in Ajo. She was a born again Christian and a lifelong Presbyterian. She also was active in the Sacaton Elderly Group.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth A. Morago-Cox, Peggy M. Morago and Pamela Morago-Prutt, all of Sacaton; two sons, Burdette and Terrance Morago of Sacaton; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and three three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie W.; a daughter, Viola L. Johnson; and a son, Merle D. Morago.

Correction: Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will be at 7 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton. Wilford Wellington and the Rev. Richard Blackwater will officiate. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.


Survivors include daughter Pamela Morago-Pratt and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie William Morago.
