Ruth A. Lawhon passed away
peacefully in her home surrounded
by loved ones on June 15, 2021 in
Casa Grande, Arizona.
Ruth was born on November
18, 1932, in Ropesville, Lubbock
County, Texas to Reagan and Marguerite Montgomery. In
1947 Ruth moved with her family to Arizona. In 1951 Ruth
married Gideon Lawhon and started a family. Ruth spent most
of her career in real estate. She was a skilled piano player
and guitarist. She truly had a passion for music and a talent
to match. Ruth had a smile that was contagious and lit up any
room she entered. She had the ability to strike conversations
with anyone that was willing and had an energy about her that
was truly unique and special.
Ruth is survived by her son, Robert Lawhon of Casa
Grande, AZ; her daughter, Patricia Rodriguez (Tony) of
Casa Grande, AZ; and grandson, Russell Lawhon (Hilary) of
Leesburg, VA. Ruth is also survived by her siblings: Betty
Williams of Hesperia, CA, Patsy Ware of El Paso, TX, Jo
Carol Harris of Richmond, VA, James Montgomery of Sulphur
Springs, TX, John Montgomery of Casa Grande, AZ and Donna Elliott of Casa Grande, AZ as well as many beloved nieces
and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reagan
and Marguerite Montgomery; spouses, Gideon A. Lawhon
and William C. Barham; and siblings, Jane Blackwood and
Virginia Billingsley.
A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, June 23,
2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Eloy Memorial Park. The family would
like to thank Hospice Family Care for the compassionate care
they provided for our mother.
