Sabina V. Torres

STANFIELD - Sabina V. Torres, 85, of Stanfield died May 4, 2008 at RTA Hospice House in Casa Grande.


Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mrs. Torres was born April 13, 1923 in McAllen, Texas, and was a daughter of Amelia and Juan Vasquez. She was a homemaker and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed children, cooking and sewing. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church.

Survivors include seven daughters, Virginia McHaney of Stanfield, Consepcion Rojas of San Jose, Calif., Hortencia Nolan of Yonkers, N.Y., Mary Moore of Morrisville, Ind., Elizabeth Hubbard of Visalia, Calif., Oralia Davis of Everett, Wash., and Caroline Jordan of Casa Grande; five sons, Jesus Torres of Bakersfield, Calif., Cecelio Torres of Glendale, Alfred and Richard Torres of Casa Grande and Gerald Torres of Peoria; five brothers, Emilio Vasquez of Planada, Calif., Juan, Jose, Victor and Domingo Vasquez, all of Bakersfield; 34 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus; two brothers, Cecelio and Pedro Vasquez; and a grandson, Michael K. Nolan.
