Sally Ann Garcia-Rivers

SACATON - Sally Ann (Garcia) Rivers, 78, died on Dec. 12, 2018.

Mrs. Rivers was born on Dec. 24, 1939, in Sacaton to Clara Anton and Miguel Garcia. She enjoyed sitting at her kitchen table with her puzzle books and playing her tambourine at church. She also enjoyed treasure hunting at thrift shops and being surrounded by family. She enjoyed eating at IHOP.

For many years she worked hard at crafting garments and quilts on her sewing machine. An organizer for women's ministry gatherings, she was devoted to her family. She was a certified nursing assistant at a nursing home and a child care worker. She also was a mother to her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include three adult children, Julie, Leslie and Julius Manuel of Sacaton; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Rivers, and three children, Joel, Monica and Felicia Manuel.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the District 3 Service Center. Graveside service at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20, in Sacaton East Cemetery.
