BAPCHULE — Salmino "Baby Scoops" Lewis, 43, of Phoenix died on Nov. 7, 2011, at home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at St. Peter feast house, with rosary recited at 5. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church by the Rev. Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in Sacate Cemetery.
Mr. Lewis was born on June 9, 1968, in Sacaton. He was a casino cook and played basketball and baseball and was active in various sports. He joked a lot and had a great sense of humor. He was outspoken, loving and caring and enjoyed spending time with his friends and children. He was respectful and was respected by many.
Survivors include a son, Tyler Lewis of Ak-Chin; two daughters, Salaya Lewis of Phoenix and Andrea Peters of Ak-Chin; his companion, Calvina Thomas; five brothers, Cornelius, Ronald and Valentino "Chubby" Lewis and Fernando Smith, all of Casa Blanca, and Fabion Santiago of Ak-Chin; three sisters, Genieve and Virginia Narcia and Salina Litton, all of Maricopa; his mother, Anita Santiago of Casa Blanca; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Reynold Lewis, and a sister, Gloria Smith.
