Santiago Barbosa

PICACHO - Santiago "Cowboy" Barbosa, 70, of Picacho died Aug. 21, 2007 at home.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. The scripture service there was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre officiating. Burial was in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Barbosa was born Feb. 14, 1937 in Weslaco, Texas, and was a son of Agapito and Aurora (Villapando) Barbosa. He was a farm laborer. He had many friends in the Eloy area and a large family.

Survivors include four daughters, Lupe Carter and Sylvia Barbosa of Blythe, Calif., Virginia Barbosa of Yucca Valley, Calif., and Angelica Barbosa of Blythe; four sons, Santiago Barbosa Jr. of Reedley, Calif., Alfredo Barbosa of Colusa, Calif., Francisco Barbosa of Phoenix and Ricardo Barbosa of Yucca Valley; and 26 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rogelio Barbosa, and a sister, Virginia Barbosa.
