Sarah Irene Ashby

MARICOPA - Sarah Irene Ashby, 85, of Maricopa died on July 16, 2016.

Mrs. Ashby was born on April 4, 1931, in Eloy to Albert "Shorty" and Irene (Towers) Campbell. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for several years. She was a member of Business and Professional Women and Beta Sigma Phi sorority for several years and was always doing something to help her community.

In her spare time she enjoyed scrapbooking and traveling. She was a caring woman with a large heart. Her loyalty and laughter warmed her way into the hearts of many.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirlene Sampson and Charlene "Chucky" LaRose; two sisters, Pamela Rowland and Vanna Carra; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert "Trigger," and a granddaughter, Shandee LaRose.

The celebration of life will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande.
