Scott Allen Calcutt, 53, of Casa Grande, Arizona, Air Force veteran, retired Chief of Police and beloved father, passed away August 31, 2024, in Arizona City, Arizona.
Scott was born in Bay City, Michigan, on October 28, 1970, to Ronald and Barbara (Griffith) Calcutt and, following his mother’s passing, was raised by his aunt and uncle, Frank and Maryann Barancik.
In 1989, Scott graduated from Casa Grande Union High School and, immediately after graduation, joined the Air Force, serving his country in the Security Police SQ, at Kirtland AFB, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Following his military service, Scott fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer, serving the citizens of New Mexico for the majority of his life, ultimately becoming the Chief of Police in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. After retiring from policework, due to injury, Scott returned to Casa Grande, Arizona and served as the Adult Probation Monitor for the City of Casa Grande Municipal Court, as well as working night security for the Palm Creek Golf Resort.
In addition to his dedication to service, Scott loved his family, coworkers, friends, his cherished dog, Shadow, soccer, country music, and the Denver Broncos.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, Michael, his aunt Maryann and uncle Frank Barancik and Shadow. He is survived by his former wife, Anne (Brower) Bell and their son, Joshua Calcutt, sister, Brandi Calcutt, cousins, Janet (Barancik) Hosick, Kristi (Barancik) Cole and Kim (Barancik) Masterson, as well as his extended family, court family and friends.
A Memorial Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Calvary Chapel, 962 W. Gila Bend Highway, Casa Grande.
Interment with military honors will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at Marana, 15950 N. Luckett Road.
