Sergio Alonzo Chavez

ELOY - Sergio Alonzo Chavez, 66, of Eloy died on Nov. 9, 2015.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel, with rosary recited at 10. The funeral there will be at 10:30, with Deacon Pat Abiles officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Chavez was born on Jan. 31, 1949, in Chihuahua, Mexico. He worked in a copper mine and enjoyed gardening. He loved spending time with family and friends and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed helping others. He was a simple man who enjoyed life and was a jokester.

Survivors include two sons, Sergio A. Chavez II of Eloy and Lucas Chavez of Casa Grande; a brother, Julian C. Rivera of Eloy; a sister, Isela Benton; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Hugo E. Chavez.
