June 15, 1946 - March 20, 2016
Shari A. Burklow was born June 15, 1946 and passed away on March 20, 2016 after a battle with COPD. She was born in Florence, Arizona to Faye and Foy Yoakum, who preceded her in death, along with her husband, Gary Burklow, and a daughter, Denise, as well as two brothers, Don and Robert.
She is survived by her son, John L. Jones; one grandson, Albert; sisters, Pat (and Ade), Sami (and Larry), Nancy (and Paul), Sharon (and Leon); cousin and roommate, Launita; numerous nieces and nephews; and her friend and companion, Mike.
Shari attended school in Coolidge. She worked at the Arizona Training Center and later retired from Arizona State Prison as a cook supervisor. She loved working on crossword puzzles, crocheting, gardening, fishing and yes, slot machines. She was a long-time member of the VFW in Coolidge. She loved her many animals over the years.
Contributions may be made to Valley Humane Society, in lieu of flowers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at J. Warren Cole and Maud Coolidge Chapel, with burial to follow in Heritage Valley Memorial Park, Coolidge.
