Sharon Lynne Ideen was born April 11, 1939 in Gary Indiana to Edna and Lawrence Griner. She departed this life on February 17, 2014, at Family Tyes Assisted Living in Casa Grande, AZ. She was 74 years old.
Sharon moved several times in her young life with her parents and sister. She moved from Gary Indiana, Dallas Texas, and finally graduating from East Moline High School, Illinois in 1957. She worked a year after High School to save money for her dream to go to college. She saved money and received a scholarship to Park College in Parkville Missouri. She met her future husband on campus when she was a freshman. She married Jackson M. Ideen on May 15, 1960.
Sharon postponed her college education to support her husband while Jackson finished his degree in Physics. August 9, 1961 Sharon and Jackson welcomed home a baby boy, Brandon Scott Ideen. More children and happiness continued. Jackson became a Math and Physics teacher in Bartlett Nebraska and Manning Iowa. June 30, 1963 they bring home a beautiful baby girl Andrea Lynne Ideen. In 1966 the family moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska where they grew and flourished for over 25 years. In 1971 their youngest was born, Adrienne Lee Ideen. Sharon enjoyed being a wife, mother and homemaker. She was an excellent cook, known for always having home cooked meals and freshly made pies. In 1974 Sharon went back to work, first at a law office, then at PCA as a secretary, from there she was promoted to the first female loan officer. This was quite an achievement for the time and something we were all very proud of. Her final career move was as Vice President of Broken Bow State back.
Sharon also achieved her goal of a college education when she graduated from Nebraska University at Kearney. She worked on it at nights and weekends. Sharon loved to belong to clubs and help others. She was a Rainbow Girl in her youth. She taught Sunday school and was the treasurer for the Broken Bow Presbyterian Church. Sharon loved the arts, to travel and to paint. Music, museums, plays, and beautiful paintings where always an interest of hers. Sharon would drive hours with her family to see the arts. One meaningful trip was with her daughter Adrienne to New York City in 2001. They saw two Broadway plays and went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Another great joy was her family. She loved the holidays and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Jackson M. Ideen of Casa Grande Arizona, her oldest son Brandon Scott Ideen of Casa Grande, her oldest Daughter Andrea Lynne Rodi of Flower Mound, Texas, and her youngest child Adrienne Ideen Chruscinski and her husband Kevin Chruscinski of Gilbert Arizona. She has four grandchildren Harrison and Jillian Rodi of Flower Mound, Texas, and Heather and Jackson Chruscinski of Gilbert Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parent s and her son- in-law Albert D. Rodi.
