SACATON — Shelly Dukepoo, 46, died on Feb. 23, 2011, at home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Pima Baptist Church. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery in Casa Blanca.
Ms. Dukepoo was born on Sept. 19, 1964, in Phoenix. She worked in finance for the Gila River Indian Community and was devoted to her family. She enjoyed family cook-outs, jamming out to good music and creating new memories with friends and family. She had a big heart and was very friendly.
Survivors include three sons, Armando Crews of Yuma, Matthew and Benjamin Ramirez of Sacaton; a daughter, Christina Benitez of Los Gatos, Calif.; her mother, Sarah Lewis of Albuquerque, N.M.; three brothers, Frank Dukepoo of Scottsdale, Monty Dukepoo and Christopher Hernasy of Phoenix; a sister, Kirstie McLean of Phoenix; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Tony Dukepoo, and a brother, Sonny Dukepoo.
