Shera Lea "Dachy" Kyyitan-Mendoza

GOODYEAR VILLAGE - Shera Lea "Dachy" Kyyitan-Mendoza, 50, of Goodyear Village died on July 22, 2018, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Kyyitan-Mendoza was born in Phoenix and was a daughter of Vernon and Imogene Kyyitan. She attended Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, California, where she made many friends. She worked most of her life serving customers at Whataburger, La Quinta Inn, Burger King, McDonald’s, Intel, Firebird International Raceway and Gila River Casinos. She loved working and greeting and talking to customers. If she didn’t have a ride, she was dedicated enough to walk to work.

She was a very giving person. When someone died, she would send family members to the store to get bread, bologna, cheese and all the fixings for sandwiches to send to the family. When it was someone’s birthday, she would make sure there was a birthday cake and ice cream. She was a wiz at math and enjoyed talking on the phone to family and friends and singing her favorite songs. She also enjoyed working on her crossword puzzles and was a fan of the movie "Frozen," especially Olaf.

She always laughed and encouraged others and ended every conversation by saying she would pray for the person. During her last days, she prayed for fellow patients in the hospital.

Survivors include a son, Jason Francisco of Phoenix; two stepchildren, Crystal Mendoza and Daniel Mendoza Jr. of Goodyear Village; three siblings, Severio A., Saquara and Merry K. Kyyitan, all of Bapchule; and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Daniel Mendoza Sr.

Visitation beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, at the District 4 Service Center and continuing later at her home in Goodyear Village. Funeral at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, at West Casa Blanca Worship Center, with the Rev. Frances Williams officiating. Burial in St. Anne Cemetery in Santan.
