Sheri De Ann Cluff was born on February 12, 1956 in Florence, Arizona to Jack Jerome and Joy LaFaye (Sipes) Ovitt. The oldest of three children, she has two younger brothers, Jack Mark and Timothy Todd. Sheri grew up in Coolidge, AZ. She graduated from Coolidge High School in 1974. Sheri graduated with her Associates degree from Central AZ College in 1976.
Sheri briefly moved to Mesa but returned to Coolidge where she was employed at Valley National Bank. In September of 1982 she began her employment with Pinal County in the County Manager’s Office as a Secretary, quickly promoting to Executive Secretary to the Board of Supervisors, then Deputy Clerk to the Board of Supervisors. She retired in February 2018 as the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors after 35 plus years of distinguished service to Pinal County. Sheri was well respected among the other county clerks across the state, being instrumental in helping to form the Arizona County Clerks Association.
In 1984 Sheri met the love of her life and eternal companion, David Cluff Sr. They were married in November 1985 and sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1986. She became an instant mom to two children and was fiercely protective of her family. Sheri was known for her fashion sense; many admired her style and dress.
Sheri loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in many capacities, such as the Young Woman’s Leader, Relief Society President and Sunday School teacher.
Sheri walked into the open arms of her loving Heavenly Father on April 29, 2024, in Florence, Arizona. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, David D. Cluff Sr., daughter Christy Little (Nathan), a son David Dale and grandchildren Chase, Addison, Bailey and Caeda, her brothers Mark (Kehaulani) and Todd Ovitt and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
