PHOENIX - Sherrill Juarez, 65, of Phoenix died on Feb. 12, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley Ryan House in Phoenix.
The celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. today at Central Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, with the Rev. Martha Sadongei officiating.
Ms. Juarez was born on Dec. 12, 1948, in Sacaton and was a daughter of Merrill Porter and Rosaline Pedro. She was a child care worker and an administrative assistant at Kee N’ Bah child care center. She also was a loving mother, worked for the Maricopa County Elections Office and was a great cook who enjoyed reading and watching movies.
Survivors include a son, Peter Salcido of Scottsdale; two daughters, Mischa Astor and Briana Juarez of Phoenix; eight brothers, Marlin, Marco, Terry and Andy Porter, Vernon, Robert and Randy Johnson and Gary Marlin; a sister, Phyliss A. Johnson; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Phillip Johnson III, Butchie Porter and Winston Johnson, and two sisters, Olivia Macias and Brijetta Johnson.
