STOTONIC - Sherwin Donald Mix, 51, died on July 30, 2014.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the District 4 Service Center. The graveside service will be at 7 a.m. Saturday in Stotonic Cemetery, with Pastor Lee Miguel officiating.
Mr. Mix was born on Aug. 3, 1962, in Sacaton. He was a carpenter and enjoyed competing in rodeos as a bull rider and bareback and saddle bronc rider. He was a Sunday school teacher at Santan Baptist Church and enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed life and listening to gospel music. His favorite country singer was Gary Allan.
Survivors include his wife, Dionne; four daughters, Anna Mix of Sacaton, Shawnae and Macy Mix of Sacaton Flats and Stephanie Brown of Casa Blanca; two sons, Jesse W. Mix of Blackwater and Sherwin Mix Jr. of Casa Blanca; his father, Donald Mix of Sacaton; three sisters, Sheila Johnson and Maria Mix of Stotonic and Terri Allen of Santan; a brother, Loring Johnson of Casa Blanca; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Mix.
