Sophia Gourd

Sophia Gourd, 49, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 14, 2014, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel.

Ms. Gourd was born on July 1, 1965, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was a caregiver and was devoted to her family. Extremely sociable, she had many loving friendships. She was a strong-minded person who always was willing to help others in need.

Survivors include two sons, Marc Harp of Phoenix and Matthew Harp of Bellflower, California; her mother and stepfather, Josiane and Ernest Dominguez of Bellflower; three brothers, Venson Gourd of Lebanon, Oregon, George Gourd of Lake Elsinore, California, and Johnnie Gourd of Anaheim, California; a sister, Joanne Wells of Hampton, Virginia; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Venson Gourd.
