Starine Elaine Soard

Starine Elaine Soard, our fiercely caring and feisty Star, passed away Wednesday January 5th 2022 at the young age of 56 in Casa Grande Arizona after a short battle with cancer. Star loved deeply and we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace surrounded by light.

Star grew up in Pine Knot Kentucky, then spent most of her adult life in New Mexico. Star was a strong woman, holding fast to her beliefs, and could make you laugh even when you were mad at her. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals and treats for her family. She also enjoyed road trips, crafting and sewing, spending time with her grandchildren, and snuggling with her dog companion Honey.

Star is survived by her four children Darkese (husband Jay), John Shalako (wife Jen), Lucas (wife Dani), and Lanette (fiancé Matt). She and her ex-husband John R Tieme “JT” shared good memories and nine grandchildren who brought her infinite joy. Star is also survived by lifelong friends she considered family, especially Vanessa Grover (husband Thomas) who cared for her in their home in AZ during her last months. She has two surviving siblings, Roy Hall and Sheri Hall Meador. Star touched many lives during her 56 years as a sister, mother, grandma, cousin, aunt and beloved friend for many people across the states who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Star was preceded in death by her mother Sharon Elaine Soard in 1995 and by her youngest daughter Sharon Elaine Lopez in 2012.

Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to American Cancer Society in her memory.
