ELOY — Steve Rodriguez, 75, of Eloy died peacefully at home on March 22, 2012, with his family by his side.
Rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre.
Mr. Rodriguez was born on Nov. 21, 1936, in Del Valle, Texas, and was the oldest of 12 children. He was a son of Refugio and Adelina Rodriguez and was a farmworker. He enjoyed yard work, spending time with his family, especially the young children, and listening to music.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary, with whom he celebrated their anniversary on March 16; six sons, Steve Rodriguez of Brownsville, Texas, David Rodriguez of Mesa, Larry Rodriguez of Casa Grande, Ronnie Rodriguez of Round Rock, Texas, Jeff Rodriguez of Austin, Texas, and Johnny Martinez of Eloy; three daughters, Debbie Pachicano of Tyler, Texas, Debbie Contreras and Stephanie Rodriguez-Maldonado of Eloy; six brothers, John Rodriguez of San Jose, Calif., Asencion Rodriguez of Prescott Valley, Pete Rodriguez of Casa Grande, Rudy Rodriguez of Peoria, Robert Rodriguez of Casa Grande and Ernesto Alvarez of Manteca, Calif.; seven sisters, Mary Nichols of Salinas, Calif., Dora Martinez of Mesa, Josie Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, Colo., Diana Marquiz of Elko, Nev., Carol Rodriguez of Arizona City, Rosa Tarango and JoAnn Diaz of Eloy; 28 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
