SACATON - Susan Jane Dixon, 61, of Sacaton died on Sept. 16, 2015, at Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital.
The funeral will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at the District 3 Service Center.
Mrs. Dixon was born on Jan. 27, 1954, in Belaire, Ohio. She was a cook for the Gila River Indian Community and had a culinary degree.
She volunteered to help the Arizona National Guard, was a member of Ira Hayes Unit 84 of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as vice president. She also was a member of an organization for "military brats" who had lived in Germany. She enjoyed sewing and listening to country music.
Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Wilman; three daughters, Susie Downing, Debbie Rankin and Beverly Patron, all of Ohio; two stepdaughters, Crystal Dixon of Guadalupe and Glendalyn Lewis of Sacaton; two stepsons, Ronald Stewart of Sacaton Flats and William Dixon of Sacaton; her mother, Margaret Kennedy of Ohio; three sisters, Mary Marlin and Mern Porter of Ohio and Belle Jefferies of Florida; a brother, Garry Kennedy of Illinois; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, John Kennedy, and a sister, Elizabeth Kennedy.
