Sylvia Theresa Alvarez

ARIZONA CITY - Sylvia Theresa Alvarez, 65, of Arizona City died on Aug. 19, 2018, in Mesa, with her family by her side.

Mrs. Alvarez was born on April 1, 1953, in Eloy to Manuel and Ramona (Chayguha) Escarsega. She enjoyed reading all kinds of books, watching her soap operas, exploring on her tablet and going to yard sales. She loved her family and treasured her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Benito B. Alvarez Sr.; a son, Benito Alvarez Jr. of Stanfield; a daughter, Rosario Alvarez of Arizona City; two siblings, Carol Ayres and Lewis Escarsega; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven siblings, Ralph, Manuel, Sergio, Michael, Olga, George and Andrew.
