On the solemn day of July 6, 2024, Tagnar "Pete" Pettersen bid farewell to this world in Phoenix, Arizona at the age of 67. Born on April 18, 1957, in Miami, Florida, Tagnar embarked on a remarkable journey through life.

A son of immigrants a proud first-generation American, his roots intertwined with the lands of Hadsel, Norway, and Montreal, Canada. Tagnar's spirit was one of wanderlust and discovery, as he traversed the breadth of the United States from coast to coast in search of the elusive "Perfect place" to lay his hat.

Settling in Casa Grande, Arizona for 8 years after departing from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Tagnar found solace and contentment in the desert landscapes of Arizona. He found joy in attending church and frequenting the gym where he earned the moniker "KING TAGNAR", celebrated as the "Great Viking from Miami".

With an entrepreneurial spirit that burned bright within him, Tagnar established himself as a prosperous self-employed businessman. As the President and owner of TP Surplus, he dedicated his life to crafting high-quality American-made tools that resonated with many across the globe.

Tagnar's love for cars was undeniable; he cherished each vehicle he owned with fervor and enthusiasm. From hotrods to Corvettes, each automobile held a special place in his heart. The cherished 1970 Roadrunner was a standout among his collection - a testament to his passion for speed and performance.

Defined by his unwavering independence and generosity towards others striving for self-improvement, Tagnar upheld a philosophy rooted in kindness and compassion. His legacy echoes through those whose lives he touched with his genuine warmth and humor.

Tagnar leaves behind his beloved sister Leila Pettersen Chevalier and her husband Douglas of Maine, along with numerous cousins in Norway. In their memories and in the hearts of all who knew him, Tagnar will forever be upheld as "King Tagner", the beacon of hope and goodwill - a true Viking among men.

May his legacy endure through the annals of time as a shining example of how simple acts of kindness can reverberate throughout humanity. Rest in peace dear Tagnar Pettersen - your presence will be sorely missed but your spirit shall live on eternally.
