COCKLEBUR VILLAGE - Teresa Vavages, 75, of Chuichu Village died on Sept. 17, 2015, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Mission in Cocklebur by the Rev. Bill Minkel, with a wake following. Burial will be early Saturday in Cocklebur Cemetery.
Mrs. Vavages was born on Feb. 6, 1940, in Cocklebur and was a daughter of Steven and Sarah Enos. She was a homemaker and loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She crocheted and sewed and made clothes for her grandchildren. Her hobbies were doing different kinds of crafts, making rosaries and cooking.
Survivors include two daughters, Velma Vavages of Chuichu and Lerline Peters of Ak-Chin; three sons, Leo Vavages of Chuichu, Cedric Vavages of Scottsdale and Murphy Vavages of Gilbert; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, McCarty Vavages; three brothers, Nathaniel, Leonard and Raymond Enos; and a sister, Ella Lopez.
