WETCAMP - Theresa Santos, 68, of Wetcamp, Gila River Indian Community, died July 16, 2009 at home, with her family by her side.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Billy Farris Memorial Hall in Bapchule. The funeral will be at 5 a.m. Friday at Baptist Indian Chapel, with Pastor Marshall Yazzie officiating. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery in Casa Blanca.
Mrs. Santos was born in Sacaton and was a daughter of Robert and Lily Pablo Tree. She was a food service worker from 1978 to 2000 at various locations. She retired from the Sacaton Elementary School District after 20 years. She enjoyed singing in her church choir, taking long, scenic drives and spending time with her family and friends. She was devoted to her family.
Survivors include four daughters, Renita Lewis, Lilly Santos and Estelle Santos, all of Casa Blanca, and Sheila Santos of West Des Moines, Iowa; three sons, Cedric Santos Jr. of Casa Blanca, Carlos Santos Sr. of Salt River and Warren Santos Sr. of Chandler; three brothers, James Tree of Casa Grande, John Tree of El Paso, Texas, and Jose D. Tree of Houston; three sisters, Lela Jackson of Casa Blanca, Barbara Guzman of Houston and Patricia Valdez of El Paso; 39 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cedric Santos Sr.; a son, Steven Santos Sr.; a daughter, Delilah Tree; a brother, Daniel R. Tree; and a sister, Juanita Tree.
