SACATON - Theron Johns, 60, of Sacaton died on Sept. 1, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley Lund Home in Gilbert.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Blackwater Veterans Memorial Building. The graveside service will be at 6 a.m. Friday in East Sacaton Cemetery.
Mr. Johns was born on Dec. 3, 1952, in Sacaton and was a son of Lebain and Grace Johns. A boxer during his high school years, he won trophies. He later was a farmworker and loved to play guitar and golf.
He also attended Bible school in Phoenix, became an evangelist and preached in different states. He was very generous and loved to help people and get family and friends together. He loved his family.
Survivors include two sons, Charles and Wylan Johns of Nevada; a daughter, Ayla Johns of Phoenix; two brothers, Pastor Aaron Johns of Sacaton and Pastor Truett Johns of Bristow, Okla.; and two sisters, Winford Dixon of Sacaton and Carlotta George of Missouri. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ira, James and Lebain Johns Jr.
