ELOY - Thomas Butler, 80, of Eloy died on Aug. 20, 2015, at home with his family by his side.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fountains of Living Water Church in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 11, with Pastor Rick Strong officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Butler was born on Dec. 6, 1934, in Lovelady, Texas, and was a son of Roy Lee Butler and LillieBell Ray. He was a farm machine operator. He liked to go fishing, play cards and dominoes, and watch wrestling and western movies on TV all day. He was devoted to his family.
Survivors include eight sons, Tommy Butler of Avondale, Roy Butler of Casa Grande, Danny Butler of Blythe, California, Johnny and Elloyd Smith Jr. of Eloy, Carl Butler of Avondale, Troy Butler of Arizona City and Jerry Butler of Eloy; a daughter, Lena Hall of Mount Pleasant, Texas; 39 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Beaula, in 2014; a son, Ricky Butler; a brother, Roosevelt Ray; two sisters, Dorothy Armstrong and Rasalie "Bessie" Daniels; and three grandchildren, Lamar Smith, Bobby Hall and Cherall Chardon Butler.
