Thomas Makil

CASA BLANCA - Thomas Edward Makil Sr., 70, died on July 24, 2014, at Banner Gateway Medical Center in Gilbert.

The wake and rosary will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Peter feast house. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Makil was born on Sept. 14, 1943, in Phoenix and was a son of Delphine and Augustine Makil Sr. He was a casino security officer and loved to watch movies, hunt, read the comic "Peanuts" and watch basketball games. He kept to himself and wanted to live in the woods, but he loved being a grandfather and spending time with his family.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Makil Jr. of Casa Blanca; six brothers, Philbert Makil Sr. of Bapchule, Benedict Makil Sr. of Arizona, Augustine Makil Jr. of Phoenix, Mario Makil Sr. and Elmer Makil of Bapchule and Simon Makil of Casa Blanca; three sisters, Connie Rossel of Lemoore, California, Annette Makil and Elizabeth Ortega of Casa Blanca; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janis Makil, and two sisters, Rita Valencia and Alexine Makil.
