ELOY — Thomas L. Olveda, 86, of Eloy died on Feb. 14, 2011.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 by the Rev. Juan Carlos Aguirre. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Olveda was born on Nov. 25, 1924, in San Antonio, Texas. He was a farm worker and also a handyman who enjoyed working on cars and his house. He enjoyed listening to music, especially country and Spanish. He was a strong man who loved his family.
Survivors include nine daughters, Josephina Lopez of Chandler, Esther Reyes of Casa Grande, Delores Guadian and Maria Olveda of Eloy, Paula Juarez of Casa Grande, Irene Burreal of Eloy, Stella Uribe of Casa Grande, Rosa and Sandra Olveda of Eloy; four sons, Thomas Olveda Jr. of Texas, Fernando Olveda of Illinois, Rogelio Olveda of Eloy and Frankie Olveda of Casa Grande; and 46 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martina, and two daughters, Yolanda Castillo and Beatrice Olveda.
