Thomas Theron Speer, 76, of Casa Grande died Dec. 31, 2007 at RTA Hospice House.
Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel and one hour before the 11 a.m. funeral Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kortsen Building. Bishop Steve Lannon will officiate. Burial will be in Thatcher.
Mr. Speer was born May 28, 1931 in Santa Rita, N.M. He served in the Coast Guard during the Korean War, retired from the Coast Guard Reserve after 20 years and was a chief petty officer. He was a firefighter for the city of Phoenix.
Survivors include his wife, Donna; a daughter, Frances Dyer of Phoenix; two sons, Raymond Speer of Glendale and Dean Speer of Phoenix; four stepdaughters, Patty Weaver of Casa Grande, Joey Curtis of Gilbert, Rose Fullmer of Peoria and L. Jean Kelly of Lake Havasu City; two stepsons, Frank Weaver Jr. of Lake Havasu City and Jay B. Weaver of Arizona City; a brother, M. Leonard Speer of Glendale; 10 grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte M., and a son, Thomas L. Speer.
