ELOY — Tom George Gamilis, 76, of Eloy died on Jan. 21, 2011, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. Burial will be in Chicago.
Mr. Gamilis was born on March 5, 1934, in Greece and was a son of George Gamilis and Konstantina Stamatelos. He came to the United States in 1951, then went back to Greece and was married in 1959. He returned to the United States in Chicago. He was a truck driver from 1957 to 1973. He then moved to Arizona, where he worked and operated service stations in the Toltec and Picacho areas. He bought the Toltec Tavern in 1975 and owned and operated it until August 2007, when it was destroyed by fire. He then retired.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, and a sister, Christina Mourtokokis of Chicago. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Gamilis, and a sister, Toula Sallis.
