Tony Escalante

SACATON - Tony Escalante Jr., 55, of Sacaton died peacefully on Sept. 24, 2016.

Mr. Escalante was born on Sept. 24, 1961, in Ajo to Tony and Corinne Escalante. He loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed cruising around, dancing to chicken scratch music and joking with people.

He was loved by everyone and loved and cared for his children. He placed them first in all things, and his grandchildren played a big part in his life. Dinner with the family was a high priority.

Survivors include his mother, of Sacaton; a daughter, Toni Escalante of Sacaton; two sons, Tony Escalante III and Jonathan Escalante of Sacaton; four sisters and a brother, Charmaine, Tyler, Sharon, Wanda and Carolyn Escalante, all of Sacaton; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Sarah Jones.

Visitation and wake service will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton, with Pastor Loretta Blackwater officiating. The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at Papago Assembly of God in Sells, with Pastor Jay Juan officiating. Burial will be in Escalante Cemetery.
