Mr. Marciszewski was born on May 20, 1930, in Albion, New York, to Dominic P. and Gladys (Sanderson) Marciszewski. He graduated from Lyndonville (New York) High School and worked for Eastman Kodak before joining the Air Force. He spent four years in the service, with a year in Korea with the 607th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron. He was awarded the U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with two battle stars and the Good Conduct Medal. He became a staff sergeant and supervisor.
He moved to Friendship, New York, in 1960, and was a junior high math teacher, then an elementary school principal for several years before becoming a high school math teacher for a total of 33 years in education before retiring in 1992. He received a bachelor's degree in education from Buffalo State College in 1960 and a master's in mathematics from St. Bonaventure University in 1965. He enjoyed bingo, casinos, reading and NASCAR and was an avid hunter and bowler before his retirement. He began spending winters in Casa Grande in 1999 and moved to the community in 2007.
He married Doris W. Bowton of Canton, Illinois, on June 11, 1954, in Jefferson, Indiana. Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by six daughters, Laurel Skiff of North East, Maryland, Valerie Marciszewski of Goodyear, Nancy Moll of Peachtree City, Georgia, Ronda Cole of Flint, Michigan, Karla Marciszewski of Cleveland and Stephanie Harry of Cheektowaga, New York; a son, Todd Marciszewski of Lockport, New York; two sisters, Frances Tango of Lockport and Catherin Paine of Medina, New York; three brothers, Dominic of Lyndonville, John and Michael of Waterport, New York; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Peter, Stanley and James; two sisters, Leona Scipioni and Katheryn Marciszewski; and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Moll.
Memorial planned in Friendship in August.
