Valerie Rita Garza

MESA - Valerie Rita Garza, 57, of Mesa died on Aug. 20, 2016, at Banner Desert Medical Center.

Mrs. Garza was born on Nov. 23, 1958, in Casa Grande. She was a homemaker and loved her music and watching westerns and old army movies. She adored her animals and worked crossword puzzles to pass the time. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include two sons, Armando Garza Jr. and Michael Garza of Mesa; a daughter, Amanda Garza of Mesa; a sister, Sandi Joe of Phoenix; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Armando Garza Sr., in 2009; a daughter, Kathleen Garza; and her parents, Jose F. and Ruth Helen (Vavages) Joe.

The graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. today in Mesa Cemetery.
