Vance Garrett, 96, of Casa Grande died on March 10, 2012, at home.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Christ. The funeral will follow at 11, with Charles Milner officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, with Lester Bagley officiating at the graveside service.
Mr. Garrett was born on Dec. 18, 1915, in Fort Worth, Texas, and was a son of William T. Garrett and Gracie M. Hendrix. He was a civil engineer and worked in the pipeline industry. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, building houses and doing woodworking projects. He enjoyed watching all sports, bowling, golf, fishing and travel. He was a member of the Church of Christ and loved Jesus.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wynona; two daughters, Pamela Jo Garrett of West Jordan, Utah, and Linda D. Chandler of Casa Grande; a son, Gregory Vance Garrett of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julia J. Atkins; a son, John W. McGinnis; two brothers; a sister; and a grandchild.
